Loosing the War

Al Qaeda is winning the war! Think back to before the attack of 9/11.

We had just elected a president who ran on the platform of compassionate conservatism. While he may have not been too smart, his heart was in the right place. The attack was like electroshock treatment to his brain, and he let the Cheney gang run amok.

We were running a surplus in the government. The economy was is good shape. Our armed services were the best in the world.

We had a middle class.

We now have the Patriot Act... the single greatest destroyer of our freedom in 200 years. We argue about whether water boarding is legal. We send prisoners of war to foreign lands so they can be tortured.

We have fought and are fighting two wars which are bleeding our nations of treasures of the monetary and human kind.

We have created an army of professionals who are stretched so thin and wounded so badly that we will pay the price for generations to come.

We now have Fox news and Glenn Beck. They sell fear. They sell the fear we created, because it was not 9/11 that caused all this, but our reaction to it. The movie the Siege, which was release three years before 9/11 accurately predicts what happens when we let fear guide our actions.

We have become a short term nation. We have allowed this short term thinking to drive our finical system to the brink by unleashing the power of greed rather than the power of creation.

Our election today is filled with lies and counter lies all based on feeding the American fear. The Great American Fear, that is the new reality. The only way to defeat the al Qaedas’ of the world is to defeat our own fear by recreating a just society. Repealing the Patriot Act! Take money out of elections Build a tax system that does not encourage short term financial thinking, but allows the middle class financial freedom. Create a tax system that encourages creation and not greed.

Create a healthcare system that is universal.

Graduate kids from High School.

Elect politicians that want to solve problems rather than get TV time and prepare themselves for the riches they will get after they are out of office.

The last decade has been a disaster to Freedom and Justice.

The hottest issue on the ballot is marijuana..... so we can numb ourselves not to care.

Al Qaeda may be winning the war, but its not too late to change the tide.
