The current healthcare debate is occurring between the left of the Democratic Party and the Center. Since neither of these groups are a good representation of the American people, the discussion is not representative of America and the result a scary amalgam of policies that do not get at the root of the problem.
Whose fault is this? John McCain. McCain, who claimed to want to work through party differences was the only politician who would have been able to engage the Republican Party in the healthcare debate. Instead he allowed his Party to use the healthcare debate for their own political motives. By not engaging in the solution the Republicans have left the debate to go left and be taken over by fringe groups rather than the great American middle.
In the end we will get a health bill that does not represent real positive change and we have the Republicans to thank.
Thanks John
