Obama should not be dithering over how many more troops to send to Afghanistan. He should be dithering over how to get the hell out.

The right wing likes to paint this decision in patriotic terms. If we dont follow the military solution we are somehow unpatriotic to those who have given their lives. Who is concerned about those who will give their lives? Damn the right wing, they are a self serving bunch of unpatriotic greedy war mongers. They are only concerned with padding their own wallets by selling their own bad advice.

I see no end game to the war there. A quick look at the history of that part of the world will quickly tell you tribal factions with no allegiance to a central government control the bulk of the territory. The British failed, the Soviets failed; what is it that makes us think we can succeed?

We could enter into a discussion on how to build nations, if there was a formula for that I would like to know.
