If my wife is the Duchess, then this lady is the Queen. But we called her the Admiral. I guess Queens are the Admirals of their fleet.
This woman had so much empathy, that sometimes she was caught in the quicksand of uncertainly, that can be paralyzing of action; or at other times driven by the certainty of understanding. It is this empathy that I will always remember about her. I don’t think many people have any, and few a dose, and only and handful really get it.
Empathy is a root, or branch of a root of the moral truth; “love thy neighbor”. I have previously written about the Islamic group that is trying to break down the barriers erected by fundamentalist of all religions. This group believes that the moral truth “Love thy Neighbor” is a common bond between religions that can be used to unite rather than divide. I think so.
People with empathy are slow to judge. They see both sides too easily.
I never felt judged by the Admiral; only loved.
