I took this picture on a hike the other day to Maroon Lake with the Duchess. It shows a creek emanating seemingly right out of the rocks; from nowhere it would seem. I wonder where it comes from?
I wonder where we come from; the earth, the universe, human beings. Well I know where humans come from and I know about sex.
There are those people who believe that all this creation happened in 6 days, 6000 years ago by God. People used to think the world is flat. It was not so bad at the time to think the world was flat, as we did not have ships capable of crossing the ocean.
There are those that believe that God, created the universe and the resulting earth with a big bang. Believing in god is not inherently bad. In fact, like the belief in the flat world, I am not sure we have the ships to cross the ocean of “no god”. AND more importantly the ocean of God as we cannot imagine
There are those that believe it all just started from a big bang that was started through some primordial event.
Like I said; we used to think the world is flat.
Imagine all the things that we used to think were absolutely right; and then later we discovered how wrong we were. I used to believe in Santa Claus. It’s not bad believing in these things most of the time.
I think that knowledge is a good thing. Any religion or belief system that desires to restrict our quest for knowledge is a bad thing. I believe that in the end we will find God; through science. Of course…. Right now… there is one right answer to all this. We just don’t know what it is. Anyone who thinks they know the right answer is full of shit and does not know how to flush the toilet.
When I talk to my brother, Sadam, he thinks that global warming is totally a part of natural climate change. He might be right. If he is right; that would be good, I think. If he is right and we limit carbon emissions and become free of our oil addiction with the Middle East all that effort would be wasted; right? He might also be wrong. Global warming may be like the world is flat; we just don’t know which side the flatness is on yet. I am not sure it makes any difference. The world is polluted and cannot sustain 9 billion people and we had better do something about it.
I think I know where the creek comes from. If we were to walk further up the mountain, we would encounter Crater Lake. I think the water goes under the rocks until it surfaces at the point where I took the picture. I could be wrong. But I don’t think so.

Dear Fidel,
For as long as I can remember, this notion of 'there is one right answer, we just don't know what it is' has retarded my intellectual curiosity and brought apathy into my quest for answers. When will I know what the right answer is? When I die? When will I reach 'enlightenment'? How can I be confident about what I believe if I don't even know whether it's the right answer or not? Why believe in anything at all if its just going to turn out to be the wrong answer? These thoughts are like speed bumps on the road to the 'right answer', but thankfully while stopped at a metaphorical rest-stop on this road, I turned around and headed the metaphorical other direction. The sign heading this way reads 'There isn't only ONE right answer, there are billions of right answers, but only one for YOU'. Unlike heading the other way, this road has billions of metaphorical 'exits' where you can find your right answer. I'll end the metaphor there before it gets out of control, but my response is thus: our answers can be different and they still can be right. Ok Fidel, I understand the wind in your sails says that every question inherently has a right answer. What if the question is 'what is the right answer for me'? If thats the case, then there really is no single one right answer for everybody, there is one for you and one for me. They can be different and both be right too. I may be wrong. I don't think so.

Dear Ender,
There is one right answer for you..... AND... in the end there is one right answer! The fact that there is one right answer should not keep you from the search... that comment is not meant to stifle thinking.
So don't stop your search dear genius son. But when you think you have the answer.... think again!
Fidel
right answers are too darn temporal for me
