Its been 6 years since the infamous 9/11. I was picking up my oldest son at a wilderness retreat when a councilor came and told us what had happened. There was one family from NY. picking up their son, who needed to leave and go home.
Now we are planning on going overseas. Hmmmm... Well we have been over many time since. Can’t travel scared; and after all they all know I have no religion that has been defined yet. I am not sure what it means to have “no religion”. I do not say the phrase lightly. I define religion as being organized. To be organized one has the “think” they know what is going on. I just believe that we have no clue.
We leave in 2 days... And I think we are excited. We being the Duchess and myself. After all,. we need a break from this terrible life of three houses and jetting from place to place. It will be good to have 2 weeks where we don’t have to think.

We leave today. We are going to miss Bushes speech tonight. I am watching CNN so I can get all the details before we go. We are in a no win situation. If we stay and slog it out; there will be little left of the country we are fighting to save. We risk an escalation of war with Iran. Of course there are those that think the war with Iran is inevitable, I , on the other hand do not believe war is inevitable or even necessary.
If we exit, the risk of civil war and again Iran playing their hand increases. There is an option I have been pondering... and its not original with me. Iraq would be dividend into three separate countries; Kurdistan, Shihitistan , and Shiaistan. We might have to have a discussion with Turkey as I am sure their Kurdish population would want to join Kurdistan. Iran remains a problem either way, but I would imagine that if we show we are on the way out... and pour some fractions of the money we are spending on war, on peace; we can show the local population a better life.
I wonder if Lufthansa will have CNN? I am looking forward to engaging the people will will meet in the next few weeks on this and other interesting topics and will report such.
The Duchess and I will meet Phyllis at the airport in a few hours and fly to Charlotte to catch our flight to Munich and then to Rome. Yes not flying direct... Points you know!!!! I hope the Pope has coffee brewing!
