Woody Creek is a beautiful place, I forget when I am away. But am reminded when I return. The River is too high to wade but the sound is soothing. The mountains still have a little snow, just enough for contrast. Wild flowers are all in bloom. The leaves protect the house from distant neighbors and leave me with the feeling of isolation; until a plane flies overhead.
Most of the bike trails have just opened so they are not worn in; still a bit grassy. I find mountain biking on the rougher sections a bit tricky. We can get out of town enough that we are isolated. We think we are isolated anyway. No telling what the bears and mountain lions think of that.
There are a lot of people in town, Aspen. Makes you want to steer away from there. Of course many of them come to the Tavern.
I wonder how long it will be before I want to spend a summer here?
